PURPLE ORIGAMI FLOWERS

Origami is a beautiful art of paper folding. It comes from oru meaning folding and kami
meaning paper. A friend of mine who has an origami
web site named
Washinoya made me the
beautiful purple origami flowers pictured above. I
was fascinated by them so decided to learn a little
more about origami.
From what I've read you can use any square piece of
paper but is probably best to use origami paper. These pieces of art are made using geometric
folds and crease patterns preferably without using glue or cutting the paper.
Origami paper is available in a variety of size packages. The paper itself is usually
any of a variety of colors on one side and white on the back. It also is a thinner paper. Here's where you can purchase

online or you can find it at many craft stores.
One of the more interesting things I read was how origami butterflies were used during the celebration of Shinto weddings to represent the bride and groom.
Animals, birds, boxes, flowers, geometric designs
and a whole lot of other objects can be made using
